Statement of Practice
Onement is a spiritual art platform rooted in painting with fire and smoke. The name reflects a return to oneness with what we feel, remember, and carry within. Founded on the belief that creation is a sacred act, Onement explores the connection between soul, matter, and transformation through smoke-formed, one-of-one artworks.
Each artwork is created through fumage technique, using candle flame and smoke as the medium. The work reflects human journeys of loss, resilience, healing, and return.
The candle holds symbolic weight within the practice, representing presence and remembrance. Smoke leaves permanent traces, much like lived experience imprinting itself over time. This process embodies a philosophy of surrender, impermanence, and inner alchemy.
Onement exists to create artworks that foster personal healing and invite authentic self-expression through creative practice. The artist remains anonymous by choice, allowing the artwork to speak without identity or expectation. The name will be revealed when it feels aligned.
